Fred is the Co-founder and Chief Science Officer at Vagus Labs (www.vaguslabs.com). Along with his co-founder and partner, Steven Dean, Fred has received seven patents for using vibration, electrical, and light stimulation to create balance in the autonomic nervous system and to increase heart rate variability passively. Fred has held faculty and adjunct faculty positions at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, and New York University. He served as the Director of Research and Development at Helicor, the creators of the first ambulatory HRV biofeedback device, and is the Founder of Mobile Health Interventions. Fred has nearly 100 publications on improving mental and physical health through technology-based solutions. He will discuss the emerging science of effortless stimulation for well-being and the new opportunities within the consumer and medical device wearable ecosystem.
